I am so happy to report that the San Jose Earthquakes are going to be returning in 2008. Most Americans do not care about soccer or the MLS (Major League Soccer), but I do. San Jose hosted the inaugural MLS game back in 1996 against D.C. United. I still have the poster in remembrance of the event. Back in 2005, the MLS broke my heart and many other Quake fans when they moved the team to Houston due to stadium conflicts. To make matters worse they lost their last game to the arch rival LA Galaxy that was led by their captain, Landon "backstabber" Donovan. Things were dark for the next few years. I still liked soccer, but after the Quakes were gone, the MLS disgusted me. Now the winds are changing and the ground is rumbling again because the Quakes are coming back.
Since, I do not like posting two blogs on the same day there is another thing that I need to mention. Sticking to the theme of shake-ups, there was a shake-up in my family. My dad called me last night to tell me my cousin, Nick, tried to commit suicide the other day. Thank God, he failed. His health is fine, but his heart is still not right. He is living with our grandmother, my dad's mother, in Tennessee. He cannot go back to work right now because he messed up his hands. My cousin has gone through a lot throughout his young life, some of it was his fault and some not. Right now, my cousin is lost right now and we almost lost him for good. For those of you who believe, pray for him.
Until then, take care everyone.
